Asian markets??

Wondering if you ladies can guide me in the right direction.  I'm looking to make a recipe that calls for soba noodles.  I can't find them at any grocery store in my area.  No one seems to carry them.  Do you guys know of any good Asian markets on the east side?  Or any store that would carry soba noodles?

TIA!

Re: Asian markets??

  • Is there a Whole Foods on the East side?  They usually have soba noodles.  I don't know any asian markets in the east side of town - all the ones I go to are downtown.
  • Whole Foods in Winter Park carries them like PP said, but that's not really east, although that's the closest one.  If you head down 50 by Mills, there are several shops which should have them.  I'm not sure about anything closer to UCF/Waterford though.  I live in Oviedo and I haven't found anything closer than that.
  • Thanks for the info ladies!  Looks like I'll be taking a drive.
  • There are several Asian markets along Colonial (50) east of Mills. The one we usually go to is on the South side of the road, right before you get to Bumby. They have HUGE bottles of sake that are really cheap but really good, too.

If you go, have fun! My husband and I always enjoy finding fun stuff at the Asian market.

  • There is also a Whole Foods on Sand Lake, near the Sand Lake and I-Dr. intersection. Also if you get the paper I saw a whole section on ethnic foods and had lists of all kinds of specialty markets by specialty (asian, brazilian, middle eastern etc.)
