  • This is insane.  I met her only once and that was back in April.  No wonder her son's daughter took forever to give her my info.  Bwahaha!!!!!!!!!

  • I've gotta hear this.  My Filipino relatives are SO into this right now, it's embarassing.  They want me to invest in a catalog ordering type business that sells things like generic chocolates and energy drinks.

    wtf.

  • Oh no ... I can't stand people who are trying to sell things.  It's my biggest pet peeve!
  • Isn't this how you get rich?

  • 10Years, it's some age-defying product.  I keep telling her to email me the info so that I can read it.  I tuned her out after the first five minutes on the phone.  We've been on the phone for over 30 minutes now.

Btw, my Filipino relatives tried to get me into a pyramid scheme while I was a broke college student!

This woman is killing me.  She just asked the dumbest question too.  She asked me how long would it take me to save half a million dollars and then proceeded to tell me that everyone responds "not in this lifetime."  Um, she obviously doesn't know what my and my husband's earning potentials are.  Stick out tongue

She keeps insisting that it's the only way to get rich in this economy.  LMAO.

I am more interested in buying the products right now.  She needs to email this info to me.  I must share this crap with you ladies.  Bwahaha.

if you talk to my former roommate then yes.  she tried to sucker god knows how many people into this scheme in which you 'invested' in latex gloves that got held up at various ports. your return was something like 20% every 3 months ?!?  i never joined b/c well .. if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I'm embarassed for her.  I feel sorry for people that fall into these schemes.  I have heard of the age-defying product scheme, something about antioxidants I think.  My God!

And that line about how long it would take to save X amount - that is seriously standard pyramid scheme training right there.

Because, really, if I buy chocolate, deoderant, energy drinks, stockings, etc. wholesale and sell them through this catalog, I will get rich.

    Yikes.

  • Just tell her you already have half a million dollars.

    LOL

  • Is she trying to get you to be a Rodan & Fields skin care rep?

OMG I think that's the name of the product!  I told her to email me, blah blah blah.  I couldn't focus on whatever she was telling me on the phone.

10Years, I definitely feel bad for her.  Once I heard the "you can make $x amount of money just by," I knew it was a pyramid scheme.  Hell, if I was her son I would be super embarrassed since his girlfriend is the one who works with DH and introduced the mom to me.

my neighbor is towards the top of that scheme. she's constantly pushing it but supposedly she's making good money.

Can't.stop.laughing.  This is the same thing the lady told me earlier.

  • LOL... I almost have to hide her FB posts because it is like she drank some strange KoolAid and now wants everyone else to join...our other neighbor that was big into it just moved to FL...maybe it is her....
  • Nah, the lady I spoke to lives in PA.  Her son lives here in Tampa with his GF and they were visiting them when I met everyone.

I love it when people drink the KoolAid and really think everyone else will too.

  • oh yes, love that type!  a friend of my mom's is like this, and started contacting me through facebook about buying natural herbal supplements from her, she would "poke" me if I didn't respond to her FB messages fast enough!

I had nothing but thanks to my mom who told her friend that I once struggled with IBS (related mostly to my anxiety disorder, which is now soundly under control).  The friend wanted to bond with me over IBS and sell me products to help with it.  Uggh.

I have another friend that is promoting the Trump Network (vitamins and such) and seriously she's been after me ever since I broke my ankle and was diagnosed with osteopenia.

  • Sounds like what my mom's friend was trying to do re: Market America. She heard that I was having fertility problems, so she called me up one night crowing about these OPC powdered grapeseed supplements and how so many people got pregnant thanks to taking OPC.  Prior to this, she was giving me stuff in hopes that I would get hooked or join her in selling Market America.  I was so disgusted and could care less about keeping in touch with this lady.  And, btw, I did ultimately get pregnant thanks to fertility treatments. :)
  • Read my blog about Rodan & Fields and how the consultants exploit Facebook and use these over-enthusiastic, manipulative tactics to get people interested in joining!  They mostly focusing on recruiting "business partners" to buy a $995 kit (which consultants receive a commission from of $100 or more) and do not really care about selling the product.
