What's your favorite sporting event you have attended?
My answer: The Ice Bowl on 1/1/08 between the Buffalo Sabres and the Pittsburg Penguins. I hate the fact that Crosby scored the winning goal in the shootout, but it was still awesome to be there.

My mom took me to the Women's World Cup final (USA vs China) when I was 13. It was the one at the Rose Bowl when Brandi Chastain took her shirt off when they won (Believe me, it was soooo hot I can't blame her)
But it was so awesome to be there! (even though they ran out of all food and drinks... they were literally putting bags of ice on the counters for people to eat/drink handfuls of)

Homecoming 2007. I was a senior at OSU, and we hadn't won a Homecoming game the last three years I was in college - and I was convinced that we'd finally win one my last year there. The whole game was super tight, and we were losing with a couple of minutes to go. I almost walked out of the game, but I didn't - I stayed, sat on the edge of my seat for the final two minutes, couldn't believe when we actually scored, and cried when we won the game and sang the alma mater. What a way to end my college years, that's for sure.
One that's pretty close to that is Bedlam II - OU vs. OSU in last year's Big 12 tournament. OU had pretty much wiped the floor with us the last two times we'd played them during the season, and the brackets mixed to where we played each other in the Big 12 tournament, too. I bought tickets the day of the game for me and my sister, and we booked it down to catch the game. It was a tight game the entire way, insane, crazy, nerve-wracking...and we won it. I'll never forget the OSU screams when the refs called the game final and we won - it was incredible.
Well, that's a toughy. I did go to a World Series game at Yankee Stadium, which was neat, but well, it was so cold and we were SO far away (2nd to last row of the stadium) that I more remember the cold than anything else.
The 2002 Islanders playoff series vs. Toronto was VERY cool. I remember feeling the ground shake as I walked around the Coliseum.
The stage of the Giro D'Italia that Dh and I went to was also incredible. I got to see my favorite American cyclist George Hincapie finish the stage--it was his first Giro and he dropped out of the race the very next day. I also got the surprise of my life by seeing my favorite cyclist of all time there as a spectator. I was speechless.
But probably my most favorite sporting event was seeing Lance Armstrong finish the Tour de France in 2004. It was his 6th time winning that year and crowds on the Champs was incredible. We had been there for several of the other stages of that Tour, but the final stage was awesome.
