Another Vegas question

If you were going to Vegas for 4 days 3 nights, where would you stay?

Also, if you could get a room for $70 a night at the Hard Rock Hotel, would you stay there?

Re: Another Vegas question

  • I haven't been in a year, so not sure what the prices are these days, but $70 at Hard Rock sounds like a really good deal to me.  I would take it.  Have you tried Priceline?  Planet Hollywood was nice, MGM Grand West Wing is really nice too.
  • I would not stay at the HR because I had a bad experience there the last time I stayed on a comp. The service was horrible all around. And it's not close to much other than a stip club and the Hofbrau House. But IF you go, have the Sunday brunch at Rare 120.

I would stay at the Wynn/Encore, the Palms, or somewhere center strip like Planet Hollywood, MGM, etc.

  • I agree with pp. We've been staying at Planet Hollywood our past few trips just because we like the location on the strip, and the fact that it's connected to a mall and all the amenities there. I LOVE the west wing at the MGM, and NYNY is also nice, but they are at the far end of the strip.

The only problem with Hard Rock is it's off the strip, and you'll have to take a cab every time you want to go to the strip or back to your hotel. But $70 is a really good price.

  • First choice: Wynn or Palazzo.

    Second choice: Encore or Venetian.

Third choice: Caesars Palace, Mandalay Bay, or MGM Grand.

Not sure if I'd want to stay anywhere else really for that fairly long trip to Vegas.  I'm too old and cranky to deal with all the people partying at the Hard Rock, not to mention there's nothing that I love to eat there.

My choices are based largely upon quality of rooms, restaurants, and general ambience.

Ditto this. I've stayed at the Hard Rock once in college and it's not something I'd choose to do again. Just not my scene and it's really far from everything on the strip.

  • The Hard Rock used to be the only place I would stay, and H gambled to much there we used to get comped all the time. However, since Peter Morton sold it, I'm not as much of a fan. I like it because I like the gambling there, but I'm not as much a fan of other aspects of HR...esp. recently.

    I prefer Planet Hollywood now.

  • I liked the HR a few years ago but not now. I think it's because I'm old.

I agree with the previous posts about PH. It's right in the center of the Strip and there's a mall so you really can't go wrong.

I also really loved staying at Paris but that's because I'm an old lady who goes to Vegas for brunch, drinks, and gawking at foreign men.

  • I love you guys.  This has helped a lot.  Thank you.

  • HR was my choice of hotel when I was single.

I think that says it all?  ;)
