This girl that used to work with me is getting married which is great - she totally deserves it she has been with her FI for like 7 years. She's been emailing me about the wedding etc and she told me that she really loved my pictures. Then she tells me that she tried on my dress (before she knew that I wore it) and loved it. She said seeing me in it makes her even more in love with it! So I know this shouldn't upset me. We aren't super close, we just email from time to time and nobody on my guest list is invited to her wedding so nobody will know if we have the same dress. I KNOW I'm not the only girl on the planet to ever wear that dress but it kinda upsets me that someone I know might wear it. Am I being stupid?

I think it would bother me at first but then I'd get over it.  I just don't understand out of all the dresses there are that she had to pick the same dress you wore.  It's not like there's shortage of wedding dresses!

I can see being annoyed at first!  Obviously there is nothing you can do so no need to dwell on it but you are not being crazy to feel a little bothered by it...I would be! haha

It would bother me at first too.  Because, really, she can't find any other dress?  Just take it as imitation is the sincerest form of flatery!  Obviously she thinks you looked amazing in your dress.

Thanks girls!  I know its pretty ridiculous - logically I know it doesn't matter but personally it bugs the crap out of me!  LOL I will get over it!

I would be a little upset at 1st, but then be a little flattered.  If she thought it look so good on you, that she went had to have it.  That's saying alot.

I don't think it's weird that she may still get the dress after she found out it was the dress you wore, but it is weird that she said she liked it better after seeing it on you and that may be a deciding factor.  Sort of reminds me of that episode of The Office where Phyllis copied Pam's wedding - except you did get married!

I would not be upset or mad. I would take it as a compliment that you have good taste and others see that. sometimes in life there are things that you can't control or change and this is one that you should let go. JMHO

I don't think it would bother me in your shoes...after all it is just a dress.  It's not like she's trying to steal your husband.

I think this would be a lot worse if you were close friends and had a lot of the same guests attend your weddings.  Then you might have people comparing the way you both looked in it to each other.  But since it is not the case, I don't think it is a big deal especially since you wore it already.

at least she was upfront about it...imagine if you got to her wedding and just saw your dress on her?!?  that would be worse lol.  i agree though, i'd be bothered...at least you must have amazing taste
