Question for home renovators

So, we're planning on gutting our kitchen and one of our bathrooms in the next few months.  My question is where have you bought your supplies?  We've looked in Home Depot, Lowes, Ikea and a few showrooms.  I so hate my 1980's kitchen!  We're having a hard time finding some things, like cabinets, that are nice and reasonably priced.

Re: Question for home renovators

  • jCam can recommend a good place for your renovations. Wink

I think our builders used 'The Kitchen Works' in Acton for our cabinets and counter tops. Everything looks good, though they did forget to place the order for our counter tops pushing our closing back a week. Unfortunately I can't comment on how they are to work with or their prices since, obviously, the builder does all that.

  • I am a designer at a custom cabinetry company (it's me and my dad). I would love to help you out! I will say right off the bat we do completely custom cabinetry - meaning, we build it all ourselves. For the type of cabinetry we do, our prices are very competitive. However, they are going to be higher than Home Depot, for example. But, you also get a much better quality, and being that we are completely custom you get exactly what you want and exactly what works in your space. There pretty much is nothing we can't do. And I know everyone says that, but literally I have been here for two and a half years and I have never ever had to say no to anyone - we figure out a way to make anything work.

If you are interested, PM me and I will send you the info on our company :-)

  • We used Prestige Kitchen and Bath in Woburn for our cabinets and design.  They owner (Tony Monterio) was wonderful to work with.
  • Thanks JCam.  I have no idea how to send a PM!  I don't know that we'll be able to afford custom cabinets, we haven't planned anything or even set up a budget yet.  When we get closer to doing the work, I will look for you on here!
