Anyone have the Sony Vaio 8 inch notebook?
My parents are buying me a laptop for my birthday, and I am really considering the Sony Vaio 8 inch notebook. Those that have them... Pros? Cons? Thanks!

What model/size Vaio do you have?
I know this thread is pretty dead, but I wanted to stop in anyway.
I used to love Vaio- I just had one that lasted 4 years (with a little help from some tech friends) but had just absolutely reached the end of its rope. I decided to, of course, go with another Vaio because I liked my first one so much. As I was doing research, I kept finding random threads or reviews mentioning issues connecting to the internet. I read mostly great stuff about the model I was interested in though. Sure enough, I am two weeks into life with my new Vaio and I am at my wit's end with the internet issues it's been giving me.
Pretty sure I'm going to return it and give Mac a try. Vaios are so darn pretty, but there seem to be some issues right now. Tread lightly and do your homework!
Oh, fwiw, I have the VGN-FW. It would be awesome if it let me consistently connect to the internet......
I hope you didn't buy your computer at Best Buy. They have a STRICT 14 day return policy. I purchased a newer laptop Vaio a few months ago, and decided it would be more practical to get a desktop instead. I had a VERY hard time returning it after the 14 days and the box was unopened. After talking to the sales rep, manager and store manager, they finally gave me a full refund. Best Buy's return policies are ridiculous. :b
Nope, bought it through Sony's website- 30 day return policy. BUT, here's an update! I called today to get a return authorization number and customer service put me through to tech support. The tech was able to walk me through the problem and it seems to be fixed! I guess running Windows Vista 64-bit on a WEP encrypted network isn't ideal and I should have my network on WPA. I just sent away for Windows 7 though and he said they've already resolved that issue so once I get 7 things should be even easier. I think <knock on wood> my love of the Vaio may be back.

Vista seems to be the problem child of Windows. Everyone I talk to hates it. I just got my Windows 7 in the mail yesterday. Can't wait to un-install Vista and install 7. Sh-yah right! lol.
