Christmas lights

It amazes me how much these things are at some stores, and how cheap they are at others.  All boxes contain strings of 100 lights.  Where do you buy your lights.  This is the first year in our home and we have to buy so many.  Just wanted to do it cost effectively without buying junk.

Re: Christmas lights

  • We buy at Target or Walmart.  Usually because they get tangled or lost in the shuffle within the year.  If they are going outside lights take a lot of damage from the weather and probably should be replaced every 2-3 years

  • we bought our at costco

i highly recommend LEDs since they use a lot less electricity

  • WalMart. They are super cheap after Christmas, so buy a few extra boxes after the holidays in case you need them next year.

  • Ooooo Costco is a great idea, as are the LED lights.  I had not thought about the electric bill.

I definitely plan on stocking up after Christmas this year.

  • We bought our LED lights at ACE.  They do a promotion every year where you can get 30% off (I think) for any items that fit into a paper bag.  We fit as much in that bag as possible to get the discount, because LED lights are expensive!
