Help me pick out a new BlackBerry (Verizon)

Hi. Currently I have the Blackberry Pearl, which I'm pretty happy with for the most part. I'm eligible for an upgrade and I'm at a loss concerning what to pick. I can choose between the Tour, the Curve, the Storm, the 8830 World Edition, and the 8703e. Does anyone have/recommend any of these? any to stay away from?

A lot of my friends have the Curve, and they all seem to like it, but I haven't heard much about the other phones.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Help me pick out a new BlackBerry (Verizon)

  • I had the Curve with a different provider and really liked it. It's pretty easy to use. Though, if we were going to switch to Verizon I'd take the storm in a heart beat. Have you gone to the store and held and played with all the different ones?

  • i have the curve and love it. i recently used the world edition for two weeks while i was in europe and it's a good phone, but it doesn't have a camera. i use the camera on my curve way more than i travel out of the country, so the curve is a better fit for me. though i really did like the buttons on the world edition. i haven't tried the storm, but i've heard that it's really hard to type using the touch screen.. so that would be a deal breaker for me.

  • I have the curve. Ive had it for about 3 weeks now. I love it. I really wanted to tour but the associate said that if Im not into media then its not necessary to have that one. I heard that storm freezes alot due to its touch screen. But Idk how true that is. Good luck!

  • If you haven't already I would check out the forums on Crackberry.com.  I have a 8310 Curve (through AT&T) and it's a great phone.  The 83xx series is getting to be a little outdated though so I think it would depend on the specs of the particular model Curve.  They are supposed to be soon releasing the new Storm 2 which is to be a big improvement in screen, etc over the original Storm.  If you didn't want to wait to see that though I would get the Tour.  There were some original issues with the trackball but I think the most recent ones have been much better.
  • Not that we're gdgets freaks butttt we have the 8830 and the 8310 and the BB storm they  are all good. I would warn you though, verizon nickel and dime you for everything.

  • I have the Curve and love it.  DH has the Tour and it isn't as easy to use and the trackball has needed to be replaced twice and he's only had it for a couple months.  I've had no problems with the Curve.
