local produce

Lately I have been thinking about buying local more rather than just the regular grocery store. Does anyone have any rec's for local farms or food coops or something that sell produce or such? I am also considering going to the farmer's market too.

I live in Beaverton, and of course the more convenient it is then the more likely I am able to make the switch.

TIA!

Re: local produce

  • Organics to You gets lots of raves.

New Seasons is near you too-I'm not sure about local, but I know they deliver groceries.

There's always a coupon online that will get you free delivery too. I LOVE this convinience BTW. Try it once and you'll be addicted. Online grocery shopping rocks!

  • There are a couple companies that do produce delivery, Organics to You has a focus on local. Organics to You Can't beat that for convenience. There's also People's Food Co-op, but it's on the opposite side of the river: Peoples

  • Thanks for the ideas! I will definitely check them out :)
  • I've been wanting to do this too. I usually try to make it to a weekly farmer's market.
  • Beaverton has a pretty good farmer's market, as does Cedar Mill. We've been getting Organics to You deliveries, and while we love the convenience, they do supplement quite a bit with non-local products. That's just an FYI, so if you try them you aren't surprised Smile

  • Thanks for the recommendations. I went ahead & ordered a fruit basket form Organics to You. ?Hopefully we'll like it and I can continue to use them.
