I need emergency costume help.....for tomorrow

OK, so DH is helping out at DS's fright night happening tomorrow. Turns out that he will need to wear a costume for the haunted house he's helping to build and was thinking of being a mummy because of the black lights in the house. Well, he's going to see if he can find a costume to rent of buy but I have a feeling he's going to have trouble finding something this late.

anyhow, I know that I can make the strips by cutting up a white sheet and he can wear a white t-shirt and I can attach some strips to that but what can I do about his legs? He doesn't have white pants (why would he? it's not 1988). What can I buy that can be used as the base of the costume?

Thanks.

  • Get white sweatpants, white thermal pants or shorts-go to Walmart or Target check the mens and womens departments.

eta*  Do you need a costume too?  B/c this is a cute idea:

  • cheap white sweatpants

cheese cloth also works well for wrapping too, or some roll bandage. Then he could were khaki pants and wrap around the legs.

Or since it will be dark with black lights, maybe black jeans would blend in and the while strips on top would make him look see though.

  • I second cheese cloth or the rolls of gauze - might be easier than cutting up  a sheet (although that would look good).  Does he have any light colored pants (light tan khakis or whatever?)  that would probably be fine if you cover it in strips/ gauze.

There are still tons of costumes at the "Iparty" near me.  There should still a lot out there as Hallowen is not until next Saturday.

     Good luck!
