canon xsi: what is the nikon equivalent?
I should let you all know that I've read the past posts about nikon vs. canon, etc.
I have also been doing research and have learned that the Canon Xsi is a great camera but I have always bought Nikon and I am so confused because they have so many.
In Canada, we don't have the D40, D50, D70 and D80 because the new ones have replaced them.
Can you help me figure out what the Nikon equivalent is to the XSI? I am reading about the D3000, D60 and D5000 but I am stumped.
I am also not sure what to make of kenrockwell.com reviews.
Thanks so much!

Re: canon xsi: what is the nikon equivalent?
I would say the D5000 seems fairly similar. I'm more familiar with Nikon than Canon though, but just eyeing the specs and pricing, they seem fairly close.
Nikon is still making D40s, but no longer making the D50, D70, and D90. If i had to choose between the D40 and D5000 today, I'd choose the D5000. (I have a D40 now.) If someone threw an extra couple hundred my way, I'd choose the D90, hands down.
