The QC Knot board is really slow, so I was wondering where some of you ladies had your weddings in the QC, what vendors you used and who you really liked. We are thinking about having the ceremony and reception at the QC Botanical Center, anyone have experience there??
Re: Where was your wedding??
I'm not of too much help here, as we got married in Ames. DH's cousins had their receptions at the local BFE community center & the Clarion on Brady (was nice).
I would have also considered the Camp Abe Lincoln lodge... I've seen it done up real nice. The Botanical Center would be nice!
Again, sorry I am not much help. Maybe in 2-3 years I'll be on the lookout for SIL!
We just got married a few weeks ago (10/10) in the Quad Cities. Our ceremony was at St. Anne's Catholic Church in East Moline and our reception was at Stoney Creek Inn in Moline.
I'm working on a "married bio" for vendor reviews, but until then... the local vendors we used were:
Photographer: Creative Wedding Package - they were AMAZING and I would recommend them to everybody!
Cake: Heller Specialty Cakes - we actually had cupcakes instead of cake. I wish they had been a little bigger, but we had extras so it's not like anybody went without. She was good and she was easy to work with. Cupcakes were a money-saver for sure.
Flowers: Silvis Hy-Vee - at first I was skeptical about a grocery store doing the flowers, but everyone swore they did great work, and they did! The flowers were really pretty and I got a lot of compliments on them. She was great to work with and everything was within my budget for sure.
DJ: Jordan Chance DJs - we actually had Jason as our DJ, but we met with Jordan to set everything up. They were both great to work with, very easy going. We actually didn't meet Jason until wedding day! We knew he'd be great and he was.
That's all I can think of right now. Let me know if you want more info on any of these! GL!
I'm not married, but am from the QCA. I will say that I coordinated my HS prom that we had at the botanical center and it was beautiful! We really enjoyed it, and the food was good from what I remember (it was quite a few years ago!)
My friend just got married in February and they had their wedding at St. Anthony's in Davenport and at the Lodge in Bettendorf. The hotel is older and more "rustic", but the food was great, the room was big, and I liked that you could do a hor douvores (I know I didn't spell that right!) out in the little foyer area. They also used Creative Photography and they really did do an amazing job!
