Wedding on 7/6 - Tipping Advice Needed

I'm getting married this Sunday and need some advice on tipping vendors. ?I've read several online articles and posted questions on the Chicago Knot board as well as my club board, but haven't gotten much help. ?Can you let me know who you tipped and how much? ?Did you tip vendors who owned their business? ?Also, did you give out tips before the end of the reception or send the tip to the vendor at a later date (after you were sure all of their services went according to plan)? ?TIA!

Re: Wedding on 7/6 - Tipping Advice Needed

  • We tipped the bartenders--I think it was $50 for both bars. We didn't tip our photog b/c they own the business, but I think it's a nice gesture. We tipped the limo drivers--I think that was about $25 each (can't remember, DH took care of that) and the DJ got a $100 tip. We gave the tips out at the end of the night. We didn't want to do it early, but we also didn't want to wait and then risk forgetting to send it later. For example, with the DJ--we had the tip in an envelope and asked the Best Man to give it to him at the end of the reception. Had he not performed as expected or not listened to our requests, he would not have received the tip. HTH!
