What foods do you associate with this theme?

Christmas on the Farm

I would like an easy to eat chicken or turkey appetizer/main dish.

 So far, I'm planning:

Pork Wellington

Pumpkin Soup

Cider Roasted Vegetables

Roasted Potatoes

Broccoli Slaw

Pecan Pie

Apple Pie

Bruschetta

Fresh Bread (Rosemary)

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Pulled Pork BBQ

Re: What foods do you associate with this theme?

  • Sounds good but I would make a few changes.  Cut the bruschetta- too italian for your choices.  Cheeses and crackers?  And too many roasted dishes- keep the cider roasted veggies, but do a different potato dish (Maybe a cheesy potato dish?)

Also, add another type of bread, cornbread? (I personally hate rosemary-the smell is awful).

What about cole slaw as well-to go with the bbq and a relish tray (assorted olives, pickles).

  • No mashed potatoes and gravy? I agree with PP about the potatoes and the bread.
  • Yorkshire Puddings with thick gravy

    Bread Pudding

    Pies

  • Sorry...rosemary won't be the only bread, but it's a special request of my DH. Good call on the bruschetta. Mashed potates would be good. And I need more pies on the menu, true.

    Pumpkin Pie

    Coconut Custard Pie

Mincemeat Pie (I personally find this unappetizing but my DH loves it) with hard sauce (confectioner's sugar mixed with brandy until it's the consistency of whipped cream)

  • Something with chestnuts...dressing/stuffing

  • What time should I be there? That all sounds good. Homemade Cranberry sauce.
  • Whats up with the BBQ?  To me that doesn't go at all.  I think you have too many dishes and need to streamline.
  • I love rosemary bread and it's very "farm theme"

I would probably eliminate the bruschetta and the pulled pork BBQ.

    Yes, to homemade cranberry.

    That's a good menu.
