The hit that one of the Vikings just put on a field judge...that was a true hit in a clear field as Harvin ran a kick off back for a TD. I was appalled and no one has said a word about it
Re: Was that necessary?
I just want to know what that player was thinking...did he think the ref was a member of the Steelers? Because the uniforms the refs wear do NOT look like Steelers' uniforms. I'd love to hear the explanation behind that one.
I know players can get wrapped up in the game and take out anything in their way, but come on now. That seems uncalled for. I wonder if he'll get fined...I'm glad the ref's OK, but sheesh.
you know my DH was still fired up about it this morning and he had a great point
you come near a Tom Brady or Brett Favre who is vulnerable like that and the flags fly and the NFL steps in and fines these guys, this ref was TOTALLY vulnerable not a pad one and this guy full on bum rushed him in an open field
Good point.
I agree.
I also agree. It looked more like he was running really fast, and had his eyes on the action, not the official
At the rate he was running, I doubt he could have just stopped himself in time once he realized the official was right in front of him.. His eyes were on getting Harvin to the end zone. I have a feeling the push came as a natural reaction to bumping into someone when you're trying to run. I seriously doubt he was thinking "oh look at that ref, I'm going to plow over him"
