  • well let's chat. what do you do? i currently work in insurance but my last day is thursday!
  • (sorry, i left for a few!)

i work in a civil engineering office.  i went to school for landscape architecture at clemson.

  • nice. i love clemson. i almost had a job with campus security last year until i found out i was pregnant. everything worked out for the best though.

  • spdbmp, what part of SC are you in?

  • Upstate...Pickens county. it's beside greenville.
  • We're having a GTG at 6:30 on the 15th of July at City Range.  You should come!

  • ok i'll see what i can do!
  • Katie G,  Can you explain to me how Landscape architecture is different from like Landscape design?
    image
  • sure!  landscape architects have a bit more responsibility than l. designers.  we design storm drainage (where does all the water go when it rains) in pipes underground and in big detention ponds, as well as everything from planting plans to parking plans, etc.  a landscape designer can do pretty much anything with planting plans that they want, and small irrigation design plans.  they don't deal with the storm drainage and larger issues.  l. designers def. do more of the "fun creative" type of plans for gardens and things like that.  a l. arch. can do those too, but also deals with the other issues.  hopefully that makes sense!  are you into gardening or landscape design?

  • I'm not really into landscaping or gardening...  We're looking into buying our first home though.

I'm into landscaping as far as I want kick-@$$ landscaping with the professional spot-lighting etc, and I want pretty grass that is green all year and not this southern grass that turns brown in the winter... I HATE it.

But I know NOTHING about actual landscaping or gardening.  I just know I'm gonna need someone who knows what they are doing to help :)  (or do it all and I'll just write a check.)

  • I was wondering when the next Greenville GTG was!  I work at Clemson!  Anyone else in the area that wants to meet for lunch?  A lunch GTG!
