hi! total lurker to this Oregon board, but you and DH totally remind me of us! We live in SD, but both grew up in NorCal. We'd love to get out of the craziness and high cost of living here, and live somewhere where there are 4 seasons, room for our kids (someday) to play, and be able to take advantage of the outdoors. We're totally considering Portland, as I've heard nothing but good things. And there public transportation is SOOO much better than San Diego!
I fell in love with Southern Oregon years ago, but think it will be more beneficial to be near a larger city. We're not planning on moving up there for a few years, until my DH is done with school. But then I think we're off!! We're planning on trying to travel up there in a few months as well, to check out the seen. I poke around for real estate every once and a while, and I'm tempted for us to just pack up and leave soon, though!

Hey SDgirl! I was so surprised to see my name as a subject...I'm a major lurker. We live in Clairemont now, but I have lived all over SD. We have been sending out resumes like mad since Sunday. We really just decided to finally go for it. My boss was really upset when I told her I was giving her my 2-8 month notice. Where did you grow up? My husband is from Grass Valley.
