Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

upgrading from Vista64 to W7
ok this is a really dumb question as I should know it but I am just going going to ask as my baby has made my head go dumb 
I am thinking about upgrading this week from Vista 64 to Windows7 here are some questions I have.
Should I get the 32 or 64?
What do I need to do before upgrading?
I will be doing this on my Toshiba laptop that is less then a year old

Re: upgrading from Vista64 to W7
If you are running Vista 64 then you should be able to use 7 64. Here are the requirements so you can check that out too.
Before you upgrade I would backup everything and get all of your program install cds together.
You need 64. You can't do upgrades where you switch architectures; switching between 32 and 64 bit would require a clean install. But since your processor already supports 64 bit there is no reason to change down to 32.
You should run a backup of your computer before upgrading as a precaution (and it's good to backup your computer periodically anyway).
