I washed some dark denim jeans along with some of L's light colored clothing. Normally I just throw in a Shout Color Catcher and everything is gravy. How do I get the blue dye out of her clothes? Color safe bleach like Clorox2? Spray 'n Wash Bright 'n White? I should really start separating darks & whites...

Re: Laundry Question
Woman! Wash your jeans with jeans only next time! I'm anal about laundry, and I've only ever washed denim with denim, so I've never had it bleed...but, I've always had luck with OxyClean (I get the dye free one w/the green cover) and Shout spray.
Or...go to the store and buy her new clothes to replace the stained ones. But don't tell B I suggested that.
Hmpf if I only washed jeans with other jeans I'd have lots of partial loads. I just sort by whites, light colors, & dark colors. But the first time I wash dark colored jeans I usually wash them by themselves. I've found the cheap jeans like Old Navy can bleed a lot! Oh and I use Woolite dark color laundry detergent (costco size) which I've found really helps keep things from fading & bleeding.
Anyway, back to your question. I'd try Oxyclean or color safe Cholorx. The spray n' wash stuff isn't very strong. If all else fails get creative & dye those pieces of clothing a darker color. Try something fun like dark purple!
I like Leanne's suggestion. New clothes!
We use Tide Coldwater because I can't trust my husband to sort laundry.
Good luck!
Rit makes a color remover that will probably work (find it near the dyes in the laundry aisle) or get creative and paint (with special fabric paint) or tye dye your damaged clothing.
As for the other recommendations I'd be interested to know if they work.
Where are you finding Shout Color Catchers? I've been looking all over for them.
Thanks! That's one of the shirts I ruined
We buy the Color Catchers at Target. I'll try to find the Rit tonight. My game plan is:
I'll let you know what works!
