Big 12 north - WOW!

Iowa State beats Nebraska.

K-state beats Colorado.

Mizzou at the bottom of the big 12 north - I hate it, but they have had a difficult start to conference play and they are young.

KU almost loses to Iowa State and then does lose vs. Colorado.

It's just a crazy time in the big 12 north.  Everyone expected Nebraska to run the table with KU hot on their heels.  Yeah, it's just not working out quite like that.  LOL.

Re: Big 12 north - WOW!

  • I re-read that post and it looks like I am making excuses for Mizzou.  That's definitely not the case.  They need to pick it up.  The embarrassing loss vs. Texas was inexcusable.  I was realistic and didn't anticipate a win vs Texas, but I expected Mizzou to show up and make it a game.

  • Dude. Iowa State beating Nebraska surprised the heck out of me. They're 2-2 in the Big 12 North?! They're usually at the bottom!

And K-State's at the top?! Holy moly!

This has been quite the year for Big 12 North...but I know Mizzou is rebuilding. I was hoping they could handle Texas, but it didn't work out that way. Is their team going to remain intacted next year, or are there a lot of key players who are seniors?

  • I find the Big 12 North super depressing this year... especially as a Husker.  Still in shock from this weekend.

I read the numbers earlier last week - it's something like 85% of the traveling roster are underclassmen.  There are a couple of key players, but for the most part we will be the same team.

I think now Mizzou is in a rebuilding stage...prior to the season, the feel was that it was a "continuing" season.  Everyone was in hopes that the underclassmen were able to step up to continue on with the success of the last couple of years.  Unfortunately, injuries happened, the players that were supposed to step up didn't come to their full potential.

I know Mizzou is not out for the Big 12 north with the ways things are going.  But beyond that, I just hope they can turn this season around.

    I agree, 100%.

  • It's been a weird year all around in the Big 12...Texas is the only dominant force left, pretty much. I mean, OSU's good and all, but we're not Texas. OU's down and out, Nebraska and Kansas have fallen...

I'm hoping next year, it all stabilizes. The Big 12 North has gotten super interesting though - it'll be interesting to see who ends up at the title game, because it could be anyone!

Yeah, really!!  WTF??  'Skers couldn't have done that a couple of a weeks ago in the pouring rain??  LOL.

I'm seriously starting to wonder who's going to take the Big 12 north.  If it's Iowa State you and I might have to hide in shame! :)
