Was wondering if you are aware of any toys that I could snag for Alex. He's very into cups and lids and fitting things together. He has a couple of blocks that do things when you fit them together. I tried him on wooden puzzles but that's not quite it- he likes fitting things, and taking them apart again, but puzzles are too one dimensional, if that makes sense.
Any ideas you have would be great. I figured you have probably seen a lot more than I have!
TIA,
Heather

i think my mom found them at homegoods.?
?he's also obsessed with cups and lids.?
?
wow! That is fantastic! I'll check them out today. Thanks for butting in!
Cups and lids...straws in cups, fitting things in to the places they are supposed to go, pulling things out and putting them back where they came from and standing them up in different places...etc. It's all very interesting stuff!
He also has these nesting blocks (gotta love Melissa and Doug) - he got them at Thanksgiving, and still loves them - plays with them differently, but they're definitely something that has grown with him and holds his interest.

bummer, the one by me didn't have those bottles. I'll check out those blocks. He isn't quite there as far as stacking goes- he still lets me do it and then knocks them over.
We should get these boys together with a bunch of tupperware.
In all seriousness, you could just go to WalMart and get him a box of mix and match Tupperware- he'll love it even more than any toy you can get. Otherwise you can get stacking cups, wooden stacking blocks, a pegboard, and even some simple wooden blocks. Shape sorters are fun at that age, even if they can't get the shapes in- just opening, dumping, closing, opening, filling, closing, repeat- you get the idea. Stacking rings are good too, and also there is a toy (fisher price I think?) that is stacking half-balls, which can be stacked, put inside one another, or put together like balls. Many of these things can be bought in Wal-Mart in the toy section- they have a simple baby toys section with these types of toys.
I have a great set of cardboard stacking blocks that Max loves- I will let you know who makes them. Good luck!
butting in as well
i have had good luck getting the types of toddler toys jody mentioned at tj maxx, i use them at work, not really with owen yet. he might like the toy piggy bank that sings and has fake coins. i bet he'd love a peg board!
good luck!
