Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

I made the first batch of those "Diet Coke" cupcakes I posted earlier.  I have to frost them tomorrow, so I'll try to post pics tomorrow or Wednesday for you.

  • I obviously added food dye to the frosting on these, but here's the cupcakes I was telling you about:

    I tried orange oil in the frosting on these and added the zest to the cake batter... not exactly what I had in mind.  The frosting came out tasting JUST LIKE orange sherbert (sp?)  I liked the original way better where you just leave the cake as is, and add the zest & juice to the frosting.

    Also, I didn't have QUITE enough frosting for the entire batch, so I think I need to tweak that.  Last time I had SO MUCH that I used a half can of frosting and 7 oz neufachatel cheese (what I had leftover in the fridge.)  I think a full block (maybe a block and a half) and a half can might do.  I'm making them for Halloween and will play around with the frosting then.
