Need Favor Idea

Background:  My birthday is coming up and every year I host these elaborate theme parties.  Unfortunately and very unexpectedly my new husband passed away 6 months ago and I am in weird place and don?t feel right celebrating another year when he cant. 

My dear friends have organized a dinner for my birthday with just the core group of people who have been with me and helped along these past months.  I want to thank them for being such a wonderful part of my life and for helping me in ways they never knew they did.

At the dinner I wanted to give them just a little something to take home with them to show them how much I love and appreciate them.  I am having a hard time coming up with anything and need ideas.  I would like something personal but also practical.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

Is there a poem or quote that you really identify with? Perhaps you can frame it, or have a jewelry box or some small trinket with that quote on it.  I'm sure one of the sellers on Etsy would be more than willing to work with you.

Sounds like you have pretty amazing friends.  How many friends are you giving these gifts to? are they male or female?

What about a blessing pot? you can find a cute container (pot, bucket, etc) and make some cute cards that say "count your blessings", Each person can then write their blessings on a card and keep them in their bucket. You can write one for each person telling them why you are blessed with their friendship and put it in their bucket for them. They are good to read during a hard time or just when you need a little extra ooomph.

I am so sorry.  Did your husband have a favorite cookie or treat?  You could hand those out - if you like - in memory of him. I'm sure your friends just want to be with you and anything you do is so unexpected and thoughtful.

I really like this idea!

Especially since our last name is Counts.

Our theme for the wedding and basically our lives was "Every Moment Counts".

I may do this also for Christmas incase I cant pull it off by Sunday.

So sorry for your loss.  I like the blessings idea, also the idea of sharing a favorite treat of his.  Especially if it is something everyone know that he loves.  You sound like you have wonderful friends.

I love the blessings pot.  A twist would be to help everyone make a bracelet or necklace with beads representing each of their blessings.
