Hmmm that's a tough one. I'd say my favorite treat that I can usually only get around this time of year is Candy Apples or Popcorn Balls.
This may sound terrible, but DH and I bought 2 different bowls for candy and two different options. We have a wide variety of regular size candy bars and then we have a mix pack of mini candy bars. Anyone that actually walks to our house gets a big candy and anyone on a golf cart or hoping out of a car gets a mini bar.
I love anything non-chocolate. I'm not picky-sweedish fish, gum, twizzlers, starburst, skittles, nerds..lol
I haven't bought any candy yet but I usually do a few bags of chocolate stuff (snickers, twix, p&b cups) and a bag of non-chocolate that I leave for the end...and if its left over I can eat it!
My favorite is either the Witches Teeth or the Brach's candy pumpkins.
I bought a few variety bags @ bi Lo and I'll probably get 1 or 2 more on my way home friday-typically we give out star bursts, snickers, and dum dums.
My favorites are the candy pumpkins too!
Sadly, we're not doing Halloween this year as there are no trick or treaters in our college town condo complex
My new favorite candy is Nerds. I had some at a church Halloween party on Sunday and I'm hooked.
We're passing out full-size candy bars... until they run out. Then we'll probably have a cheap mix for backup.
My favorite is those peanut butter taffy that are in the orange and black wrappers.
We're not handing out candy at our apartment, but at Scuffletown we've got snickers, milky ways, twix, and then we got the big bag from Sam's of the tootsie roll assortment.
BHAHAHA. that's awesome. i like your style we sadly only get about 5 groups of kids at our townhome (most of our neighbors are retirees-no yardwork & near a golf course).
i bought Nerds for the kids because i absolutely love them and haven't had them in ages. i'll probably grab a mix of chocolate that has dark chocolate in it since we definitely will have leftovers i usually buy my favorites (but in the small size variety b/c i'm cheap).
March 2011 moved to WA from Charleston, SC
live in Mill Creek, work in Seattle, DH works in Mt Vernon
Thanks . I'm confident we get about every child in Spartanburg County showing up in our neighborhood.
Last year we didn't live in our house, but we had made the offer on it. We went to go look at it (not realizing it was trick or treat night). While we were there we have at least 5 kids stop by and tons of cars drive by. And trying to leave....it took us an hour to get out o the neighborhood.
I don't have a problem with kids going to a different neighbrohood than their own, but at least park at the front and walk. That's what I did as a kid.
