Well my grandfather is still hanging on. The hospice nurse was there when I arrived, but she left when I got there. She was like, "well, since your granddaughter is here, I'm going to go ahead and go." Um yeah I don't know what the heck I'm doing here! Luckily one of my grandmother's good friends is also a hospice nurse and she came and was wonderful. She really helped us understand what was going on with his body and helped with some of the more delicate issues. He's bedridden and not responsive at all, and while I was there his breathing got more shallow and his pulse is fading. It won't be much longer, but after seeing him today it's almost a relief it will be over soon. He's lost so much weight and is just a shell of a man.
I really appreciate all your thoughts and prayers, ladies.
Re: Back from my grandmother's house
I lost my grandfather to cancer a few years back. He was my "dad" growing up and it was hands down the hardest thing I've ever gone through. Reading your description of what your grandfather is going through sounds exactly like his ordeal. If you wanna talk feel free to PM/email me.
Big hugs from me.
