Hiking rec needed

Hi Ladies,

Derick and I have a 3 day weekend, and are looking for little day trips. I want to be outside (weather permitting), so I thought it would be great for us to bring Koda for a hike. I have been hiking in the White Mts before, but was wondering if anyone had any other recommendations for good day hikes. Thanks!

Re: Hiking rec needed

  • We like to hike Mt. Major in Alton, we go at least once every summer.  Fairly easy hike, but it does get a little steep towards the top.  But once you get to the top the view is worth it, you can see most of the lakes from up there.  This web page has more info

  • I second Mt. Major. It is a fairly easy hike- unless you despise hiking like I do Stick out tongue

    The view IS amazing!!

  • Another Mt. major rec.  Also, I think you are already on your way in but I'm looking for you!  Pharmacy said you'd be here at 10.  I'll try to come find you.

  • I will third Mount Major.  Also you could hike Mount Monadnock.  Fairly easy hike.  I hiked Mount Monadnock in april.  It took us about 2 hours to get to the top.

  • we also love Mt. Major and I haven't been up since the fire this spring, it should be nice and green
  • DH just walked into the room and said "What about Blue Job?"  It's in Strafford on 1st Crowne point road.  Way nicer than Mt. Major if you go across the backside to the pond.
  • Thanks everyone for the great recommendations. I will take pics at the top!
