PCP/TTC/ATP - clicky poll

Is everyone tired of this subject right now? This post is usually started way before now.  Updates?

My QOTD is going to be a clicky poll since I know the topic can get opinionated ;-)

Re: PCP/TTC/ATP - clicky poll

  • Wow is it dead today or what.  I have been super busy and Ella had a doctors appt. today so I actually expected to be really late to the post.

Ella is doing really well she had a great eye appointment on Monday and a fab appointment today.  Her eyes are all set and we don't need to go back until her 1st birthday her ROP risk is pretty much 0.

So the big news litterally is that Ella is now 9lb 6.5 oz!!! Can you believe it.  I can't.  This means she is in the 1st percentile on a non adjusted age weight chart!!!  She is 40th for adjusted age.  This means that 99% of 3.5 month olds weigh more than her but she is on the chart and this is amazing!  Since she was so small at birth she has come a long way!  We are actually dropping her calories in her bottles down to 22 cal.  Breast milk is 20 cal and if we can get her to keep gaining weight with the 22 then we won't have to add calories and I will be able to let her bf more!!! Yeah!  Less pumping would be great!

Ella is also smiling a ton and starting to really interact with us and her surroundings.  Oh and she is sleeping in her crib for naps for the second day.  Pictures are tomorrow.  I am so looking forward to it!

  • I never tire of this subject! LOL!  I was consumed by a work project for the last couple of hours and I've just come up for air! It feels good!!

I don't really have an update this week.  Just plugging along Smile Still feeling pretty good, though the evenings are still tough.  Will I ever enjoy dinner again???  8:15/8:30 is my tried and true bedtime, and even at that my 5:30 alarm feels like torture!!

This weekend is when we tell my mom/stepdad/brothers - after that, we'll post on facebook and be out to the world! Smile  Trying to keep a good attitude about telling mom - she's such a wildcard, I have no idea how she's going to take the news.

As far as pre-baby planning (the next step after PCP, LOL) we are seriously considering buying a townhouse rather than a SFH next year.  The lower price would allow us to buy before the baby comes (assuming all goes according plan), which would be really nice.  And we are really attracted to the generous square footage of the places we've seen (bigger than the SFHs we've looked at!) and the groovy amenities like central air and having someone else cut your grass and shovel your snow.  So we're getting super excited about the possibility of getting into a townhouse in or around March! And of course all I can think about is the nursery...!

As for the QOTD, I voted undecided.  I hate even thinking about it!  People on both sides have such passionate, compelling arguments - we'll be giving it a lot of thought if our big u/s reveals a boy.

  • Yay Ella!!! and yay Sam!! you guys are doing such a wonderful job :)

i had to grumble at the circ question b/c i know this is going to be an issue in my house (if we have a boy).  You all know that i'm a minimal intervention, leave your body as it was made, kind of gal. I dont even have pierced ears. But, my wife is Jewish. So that means one, or both, of us is going to have to compromise.

  • Yay about Ella and that adorable new sig pic!

We're under contract on a house! This was our huge PCP item. We're planning b2b +insems this weekend. Hopefully it will all work out cause my stress levels have been really high and I know that can through off O. If it goes as planned, we'll get the results the same week as closing!

I answered no to the poll. C and I have talked about this and are on the same page. I see it as mainly an aesthetic/cultural practice with little or no medical benefit for most male babies in our country. That being said, I respect other people's decisions, especially those based on religious beliefs.

  • Between work events and doc appointments, this week is crazy busy. I feel like I'm not getting caught up the way I need to after being out sick all last week. Ugh.

On a nicer note, everything is going well with our little girl, and next week will be viability week! Not really a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but a bit of a sigh of relief anyway.

QOTD: I answered undecided for this one. I was actually relieved we wouldn't have to make this decision when we found out we were having a girl!! I'm a firm No, but Trav had that whole "he won't look like me, it will be harder to clean" thing going on, and was a firm Yes.

  • We hit a milestone this week. The boys came home and said that their friend Aaric (Eric) told them they had to have a dad and didn't believe they had 2 moms. So when L took them to school Tuesday, Aaric was there and said, "Carter and Grayson have a dad!" L had to explain that no, they do indeed have 2 moms. Carter said, "Yea....I TOLD you we had 2 moms!"  Stick out tongue

Yes, we circed the boys. We talked to every male (circed/non-ciced - gay and straight) that we knew (and felt comfortable asking) and it was unanimous to circ. We never had any problems with it and it felt like the right decision for us.

  • YAHOO for ELLA!

I have not updated in a while.  Short story - after 7 tries at home and an HSG in the middle of that which cleared out DW's tubes....we are moving to unmedicated IUI in January.  We met with an NP and are very excited.  She was super cool, and really awesome to both of us.

  • I'm a day late to this...Big work event last night.

I mentioned our big news. We meeting with our RE tomorrow to further discuss our November start! We are beyond excited.

I have no idea what we will do about circumcision. Wife is pro and I am undecided. We still have lots of research to do on this.

Great news about Ella! Big Smile
