I'm having a party on Saturday, and I'm trying to make my menu more Halloween-y. Any suggestions? Or do you think it's Halloweeny enough? Is anyone else making anything fun and worth sharing?
caramel fondue (with apples)
mummy sausages (sausages wrapped with strips of Pillsbury crescent roll dough, to look like a mummy)
Bakerella's spider bites
witch finger cookies (cookies shaped like fingers, with dyed-red almonds as "fingernails")
mini spinach quiches, baked in a pumpkin shaped muffin tin
grilled chicken skewers with peanut teriyaki sauce
pumpkin bread
apple cheesecake tart
spicy kettle corn
cheddar cheese muffins
candy corn martini
pumpkin martini
hot spiced apple cider
Re: Halloween cooking!
That sounds delicious! I am so hungry right now and this list isn't helping. I love the mummy sausages idea.
Things look pretty Halloween-y already. The only thing I don't see represented is maybe a ghost? Could you make the apple cheesecake tarts ghosty? Those seem like the most white thing.
I'm making spider web cupcakes. I'm just going to pipe a web on the top and put a chocolate spider on. I hope they turn out like I am imagining!
You know what? I *am* making a lot. I wonder if I should rethink the menu. We're having 11 people, but 4 are leaving early to take their kids trick or treating. Hmm. However, I do like having party leftovers.
Maybe I'll nix the muffins and make half a batch of quiche (about 8-10 muffin-sized quiches)
