Under contract!!! (Edited and PIP)
We're under contract on a house!!!
There are still lots of steps to go in the process (inspection this week, appraisal next, etc) but we locked in our (great) mortgage rate and are proceeding with cautious optimism that everything will go smoothly and we'll be in our new place by Thanksgiving.
It's a 1940s bungalow, walking distance to a good elementary school, and easily commutable, fireplace, hardwoods in the upstairs rooms and under the living room carpet, formal dining, large kitchen with tons of windows overlooking a huge (for the Seattle area) backyard. Downstairs is a 3/4 bath, finished family room, an extra finished room for bedroom or office, a laundry area and an unfinished storage space lined with shelves.
