simplehuman trash cans

Anyone have one?  Are they worth the money?  Sarge (our lab) got into our el-cheapo garbage can without the lid tonight and ate a chicken bone out of it. So I decided it's time to spend the cash and get a good garbage can that's foot-pedal operated.

So tell me what you think of them.  We're (I'm) looking at the 50L 1/2 circle one in brushed stainless (read: fingerprint proof - bonus!)

Re: simplehuman trash cans

  • We have two and I love them.  The have great costumer service too.  DH wasn't set on them because of the price but now we really like them.

  • I love mine, too.  I have a one year old who's constantly touching it, and you can't see her handprints at all.  I don't typically like to keep a trash can out in the open, but it was our only choice.  Luckily, this one looks nice and is great at keeping odors in.
  • I have one in our kitchen and I love it. We registered for it on our wedding registary and I didn't think we would get it because its so expensive. DH's best friend (our best man) bought it for us.
  • We have one and I love it.  Even our little trash-scavenger beagle mutt can't smell what we put in there, so he has no interest in it.  And since it's nice and sturdy, even if he wanted to, I don't think he could get in.  I got really tired of him knocking over the old, cheap can to get the goods (even after I put a bunch of bricks in the bottom to weight it down).  DH got me the Simple Human can for Christmas and the only person who didn't think he was crazy for buying his wife a trashcan for a gift was one of our friends who already had one :)  Plus, the money you'll spend on it is probably way less than what you'd pay in vet bills if Sarge ever got something really bad for him out of the garbage.  I say go for it!
