Yahoo group?

I remember someone mentioning a yahoo group. Can I get some more details? Thanks!

Re: Yahoo group?

  • There is a yahoo group, but it is horribly out of date.  We haven't used it in a while, and I would venture to guess that more than half of the people on the list don't even post here anymore.  I almost wonder if we were going to try to use it again, if it would be easier to start from scratch.

We used to use it to plan wedding gifts for each back when we were all on the knot.  We've also used it to share photos or other things we didn't want posted on the boards.

  • Ah, now I understand! Thanks. Well, I wanted to invite you all to be my facebook friends, but don't know how to do that without posting my real name here. Hmmmmm......

  • you could PM individual people and then privately give them your email address or real name.
  • Madison, I am super embarrassed to admit that I don't know how to PM! lol...Maybe it's time to look at the "Q&A" link...Embarrassed

  • no big deal...it took me a bit to figure out.  Click on "contact" by my name or anyone else's at the bottom of a post.  then send a message. To check messages, click on "check Private messages" on the list over on the left of this screen.  I'll be away from my desk for a few hours so maybe test with another poster if you want faster results!
  • Thank you, Madison! Big Smile

Starting from scratch would be a good idea. I don't even know half the people on the list, and I've been posting  here for quite some time!

  • I don't know that starting from scratch is the best/easiest thing.  There is no reason we can't deactivate old members that no longer post.  I've actually been thinking of this the past few months.  As an administrator for the group I could send out an email to everyone with a deadline for response.  If someone doesn't respond by the deadline I would deactivate them from the group.  Then we could clean up the address list and link sections we currently have there.  How does that sound? I just hate to abandon the group altogether and have our private info just left out there unmonitored. kwim?

I think that's a good idea.  I didn't realize that deactivating users was an option.

  • Message sent.  Please respond by next Friday if you'd like to remain active in the group.  After that I will delete inactive users and clean up the files a bit.  TIA!
