Interesting: Gardasil Researcher drops bombshell

This is legal advice. Circa 2011
I judge parents who consider NOT giving a vaccine to their daughter that could help in the prevention of cancer. She isn't eligible for it until after she starts menstrating, but before she has sex, but the effects of the meds last her (so far) for forever. This is right up there with chicken pox IMHO.

Do you mean would I teach my daughter that too? Of course! I would teach her that in order to respect herself she needs to respect herself. I would not have this exact conversation with her at 9. I also think the responsible to do is to use condoms.
"This is not the first time Dr. Harper revealed the fact that Merck never tested Gardasil for safety in young girls. During a 2007 interview with KPC News.com, she said giving the vaccine to girls as young as 11 years-old ?is a great big public health experiment.?
At the time, which was at the height of Merck?s controversial drive to have the vaccine mandated in schools, Dr. Harper remained steadfastly opposed to the idea and said she had been trying for months to convince major television and print media about her concerns, ?but no one will print it.?
?It is silly to mandate vaccination of 11 to 12 year old girls,? she said at the time. ?There also is not enough evidence gathered on side effects to know that safety is not an issue.?
This has been a big conversation between my mom and several other moms in my sister's class. Right now, Mary Brighton is only one of 3 girls left in her class that have not gotten this vaccine. My mom's main reasoning for her not getting her vaccinated is because there hasnt been enough testing an research on girls her age (she'll be 12 in 2 weeks). She also feels that in a sense if she vaccinates her, its like giving MB the "okay" to have multiple sex partners, but I partially disagree. I think morals has a major play in that decision, not just if you have been protected by a STD vaccine.
A) your sister's name is Mary Brighton? Does she go by both names? I think that's the 2nd coolest name ever, maybe 1st, behind my own dual name of course!
