I'm actually having a hard time with the Phillies being in as well.
What is absolutely so bad about the Phillies that you have such hatered for them. And don't use the fans as an excuse.
My thinking is they can't be all that bad if 1. they won the world series last year, and 2. are playing for it again this year.

I missed the comment. I don't hate the Phillies at all. MH is a die-hard Phillies fan and not too long ago, the Phillies were the losing-est (if that's a word) professional sports franchise ever. But guess what? They bounced back from that and won the World Series last year. That's inspriration in a nutshell for any baseball team or professional sports team in general.
With that said, I still want my Yankees to win.

I said that. And I said it because I am a Mets fan. A long standing fan from the early 80s so it's difficult for me to watch them in the playoffs at all.
mets fans shouldn't root for this series. they should root for a meteor to hit the stadium.

Why can't I use the fans as an excuae? Thats why I have issues with Philly teams. End of story.
I think Philly fans get a bad wrap. Yeah we are loud and rowdy, but for all the Phillies games I've been to, I've seen worse behavior from the opposing teams.

I'm not going to flame you, or be snarky, but what is it about Philly fans? Trust me, I know we have a bad reputation, but I'm just wondering if it's what you've heard or personal experience.

My biggest issue happened when they made fun of someone's 2 month old child dying. They taunted a bucs player about it about 2 weeks after she passed.
Yes, every team has its jerk fans (and I realize not all philly fans pull that crap), but Philly fans seem to be proud of it (yay! We booed Santa and a 6 year old!) and thats not ok with me.
Wow, I didn't know about that and that is quite embarassing. It always sucks because there is so much good that happens in Philly and surrounding the fans and the teams and it's nasty stuff like this that makes us all look bad. On behalf of myself I apologize for that, because that is terrible!
I appreciate it, but you really don't have to apologize. I fully admit I'm probably too bitter about a few occasions. Its just that I rarely meet Philly fans who admit fans can get out of control and thats its not necessarly good. Its good to hear you are one of them! DH is one who does as well
yeah ok... thats what you guys have been yapping about for the past 3 years... your team sucks... they cant handle the pressure... they had 2 September collapses and last year just plain sucked!!... Whats going to be the excuse next fall!
