My 15 minutes of fame

I know most of you are way past the wedding stage but somehow my bio got nominated for Wedding Bee's bio of the week.

I was so surprised and honored to know my wedding was recognized

  • Congratulations!  Your wedding was beautiful so I'm not surprised you got nominated :)
  • Yay!! Very cool, Star!
  • I love that style veil!  Is there a cultural significance to it for you or did you just like it?

What's with the Heiniken pics?  Smile

My MOH made my veil.  I really loved the style and since I was marrying a Cuban I figured it fit.  Best part, it cost $57.

My husband's dad loved Heiniken.  He passed away 6 years ago and DH was really close to him.  DH doesn't really drink but at our wedding it was one of the things he wanted to have available.  The one of the seat with a Heiniken was put there by the best man during his speech.  The seat wasn't left empty on purpose but it just kinda happened.  The seat was right next to his mom and it just made us all cry during his speech when he placed it there. [Even as I write this I'm weepy.]  DH wore cufflinks with a picture of his dad inside and wore his dad's watch even though it doesn't run.

  • aw that is so sweet!
  • Very cool!
    Oh Crumbs

  • I thought I'd come over here and say hi to you STAR and check out this troll you are talking about...
  • Those are very beautiful!  We had our furbabies in our ceremony with pictures, it was a lot of fun!!
  • I am not suprised either. Congrats!

Yea the veil is very traditionally Cuban. Its beautiful!

You have no idea how close to home this post has hit. I have cried like a little girl for the past 5 minutes and had to contain myself to write back! I loved the idea on the beer pictures...I wish I would've thought of that! Wow...neither of my parents made it to my wedding. My Dad died three months and 4 days before my wedding and my Mom was in the hospital the week of my wedding (she almost died too) and made me swear to continue on and get married and go to my honeymoon! ((It was a rough year)) and there's a lot of things I wish I would've been able to do differently to tribute to my parents but it just happened so suddenly and I couldn't even function correctly and everything that could go wrong did...EVERYTHING! So this story just hit home ...just felt like sharing that and thank you for posting it.
