Mine's a gear head, so I was hoping to get him an engine for his next project, but he's buying that next week...which is what happens everytime I have a good idea of a gift...
So, I'm planning on buying him some books from his favorite automotive journalists, one of those things you put around your ankle so you don't tear up your pants on the bike gear, probably some racing games for our Wii, but i can't think of much else, he's like impossible to get stuff for and chances are he'll put some of those things on his list that his family buys from...so we'll see
I tend to buy him a few presents from me, and then a few inexpensive ones from our four-legged baby.
DH is getting a nail gun and some clothes. We're doing a small christmas this for ourselves b/c we've been doing some renovations to the house.

We are getting a Wii together for Christmas so probably a game that I know he will like for that.

For him I just have to buy as I see because he likes to just buy what he wants when he wants.

We both agree not to spend too much on gifts for each other for any holiday - Christmas we set a $100 limit. So far he's getting a Penn State shirt and a Steelers shirt, but I'm not sure what else yet.

We usually plan a vacation for a couple of months after Christmas as well. We are looking at Vegas, Boston or D.C. We've been to Vegas together. He grew up outside Boston and I've never been. We've been to D.C. with other people but not together. I vote for Boston since I have never been and he has family in the area.
We are moving into a new apt just before Christmas, so probably something useful. We did the same last year. lol "Merry Christmas, here is our new room!"
