Can we talk times?

Really, do we NEED to have every game at 8 or later? Not that I'm not going to watch, but ten in my bed time, and I'd like at least ONE game to start at seven...Maybe the baseball gods will here me, but probably not.

Anyway, thrilled with last nights win, and Johnny Damon's double steal. That was really cute. :)

Re: Can we talk times?

  • I'd like earlier games as well.  I was so exhausted yesterday, I was trying to stay up and watch the game.  I made it to the 8th inning and then fell asleep despite my caffeine consumption.
  • If they do it before 8, the west coast won't be home yet
  • It's all about ratings for Fox and MLB. And so far they have had the top rated show of the week.

No offense, but who cares about the west coast, these are east coast teams, play a little earlier!

I kinda agree, but I love the west coast. :)

  • Agreed! I hate that the next Steelers game is a night game. I have to be at work at 7:00 AM, FFS.

    This, exactly.

Ugh, I know!  Not to mention the HOUR commute to get there.  But no worries...I can stay up until midnight all the time!

Playoff games used to be earlier.  I remember coming home from school as a kid and watching October baseball in the late afternoon/early evening.  They're screwing the sport for the next generation as well.  Who is going to let a kid stay up past midnight on multiple school nights to watch baseball?

Are you my H? He says this ALL the time!

  • I do not even really care (I will just go to bed if it is too late), and I find it annoying. They do not even have a west coast excuse since both the teams are east coast.

  • You really think there aren't any Yankees fans on the west coast? Those fans are everywhere.

And I'm pretty sure people who aren't fans of either team still watch. Look at the Superbowl: One of the biggest ratings days of the year and only two teams are in it.

The Superbowl is different. It's one day, not 4-7 days. People plan huge parties around the Superbowl and some people watch it just for the commercials - world series commercials have consisted of 80 lame direct tv spots. And while the world series is getting decent ratings, it's not coming anywhere near the ratings the superbowl gets.

Exactly.  There are Yankees fans everywhere.  Why favor the ones on the west coast over the ones in Europe or Asia?

  • :D to katie.

The rest of you are crazy. They aren't going to change it just because the teams are on the east coast.
