Poll: What's Your Thermostat Set To?

Ours is at 80, and we make good use of the ceiling fans.  I *hope* that's good enough to keep some costs down!

(You ladies are scaring me with your CPS bill horror stories!  DH and I haven't gotten our first CPS bill yet, but now I'm bracing myself for having to take out a loan just to keep the power on!  Tongue Tied)

  • 76... it just might be going up to 78 though.?

  • 80 until about 3pm, then 79.

At night, I just raised it to 74 because of our last bill. I was crazy about 72 or 73, but not anymore!

  • We have ours set to 78 and we use the ceiling fans
  • 82 during the day, 80 when we are home and 78 at night and 76 when we get up until we leave for work (sorry I refuse to sweat when drying my hair!)... All our ceiling fans are on non stop. It was 2 degrees less for each time period until yesterday when I freaked about our bill..

I have to admit though, after grilling dinner, I am warm, but I'm weak when it comes to heat, SA is SO HOT compared to RI summers by the ocean!

  • Ours is 75 during the day and a nice, chilly 68 at night!!  Yes, we will be coughing up a nice sum of cash to CPS!!

  • ~84/85 in the day, 80 at night, but we still have a high bill. We have an old house that's not the best insulated, though we've taken many measures to conserve - all energy star appliances, don't leave things plugged in, we've only ever had CFL bulbs....can't wait til we can just open the windows (some are still lead paint so we don't open them).
  • 80 during the day and 78 at night. Ceiling fans in use!
  • 72...24 hours a day.... I am NOT used to this heat- and Im not suffering through it!!!
  • 75 24/7. While we were gone for VA we put it on 80 for the entire time. We have all of our ceiling fans on. Our bill was ridiculous last month but we also have a ton of computers running regularly.
  • It's on a timer so 74 - 75 when we're at home, 80 when we are not. We actually used to keep up cooler, but upped it last month. DH doesn't have AC in his work truck so I do try to keep it cooler for him at home. We keep the ceiling fan on at night and sometimes in the living room.

  • We set ours to 80 when we are not home and then between 75 and 78 when we are home but we use the ceiling fans in all the rooms too.
  • UGH...Our bill was still over $200.  Now it's set at 82.
