Pacifier Rave

Obviously I don't know how well the little guy will like it, but I got an amazing pacifier as part of a gift this weekend. It has a self cover and closes when it is dropped. We tried it out yesterday and were amazed by it. The brand is called RaZbaby. Just thought I'd pass it on, since 'tis the season for grossness and germs :)

Re: Pacifier Rave

  • Someone bought that for DD too! Isn't it great? With me being a giant germaphobe, it's a great concept

I'm saving it for baby #2, considering DD has always refused the paci. I have a ton that are sterilized and ready to use LOL

  • I'm going to have to check this out. We are always dropping Dylan's paci's.

  • I haven't heard about that one...now I want to! It sounds like a great idea.

Question: what type of "nipple" is it?

It may seem weird but I like the ones that are not all 'round' - it's flat on one end. Again it's what I like & I have no idea what LO will like if any!

  • Sounds very well designed! I'll have to hunt one down after my little one arrives. Thanks Amy!
  • I had a friend tell me not to bother buying one, it closes up after the nipple part has alredy touched the floor, and she said sometimes it either wouldn't close or else close on the baby's face.

LOL - I am the same way.  I always got Lauren the "orthodontic" suckies that were flat on the one end.  She always preferred those too (I had a few round ones as gifts).

I have discovered some great new ones, that she really likes - they are I *think* by Plaxtex but they are called Binkys.  The nipple is more like a little cyclinder.  It is supposedly (per the package) "most like a mother's nipple, for greater sucking satisfaction" LOL.  I've only every seen them in 6+ months size though.

  • That would be horrible if it shut on the babies face!

We use Soothies and B loves them. We like it because it is similar to a breast nipple.

  • That would be horrible if it closed on the LOs face ouch. We've tried different ones, the one she hated the most was the mam pacifiers. It's a flat nipple and she is not a big fan. We bought the born free ones to see if she will take it. She loves it.

I hope your LO will like the one you got.

  • We couldn't use the orthodontic ones that were flat on one side, Austin couldn't keep them in his mouth.  We still use the 'bulb' ones.  We have 2 of the binky ones and he will use them if needed, but prefers his other ones.  We use the playtex drop in bottles and the binky soothers are the same shape as the nipples so that is why he takes them.

  • When they start teething, the RazBerry is awesome.  Its all bumpy and feels nice on the gums, and you can freeze it too

  • I saw those but didn't get them b/c DD doesn't use pacifiers. When we were trying to get her used to them we bought the avent ones. They are the ones taht are tube like and don't have the flat end. When they fall they always fall on the plastic part with the handle. The nipple never touches the ground.
  • Hmm I'm not sure how it could close against the baby's face.  It would be laying against the cheeks, so it would be tough.  If it somehow did close near the baby's face, I can't see it pinching or hurting in any way.  It closes around the nipple.  The design of it just doesn't make it seem possible that it could do that.  The baby would have to spit it out, in which case, that part would be away from the face.
