I'm trying not to have a total breakdown but I need to start looking for childcare for the baby. I don't need care until January. Is it too soon? Am I late? I truly only need care Monday and Thursday afternoons and Tuesday and Wednesday full days. Please help me with some leads. I looked up the CDCA and am starting there too. But, I know there are other good people out there that aren't licensed. I live near Kisker and 94 in St. Charles but I work in Chesterfield. I can go either 94 to 40 to work or I can take 94 to Page. I'm willing to look St. Charles/Weldon Spring Area, Chesterfield, Maryland Heights. Please someone help me. I started to go look at a center today and I couldn't get out of the car. I just started crying. DH is going to have to go with me. I don't think I can do this alone. I'm going to post this over on STL BOTB when I get home today too. Thanks so much!
Re: Child Care Recs?
If you are still looking, I used to work at a center. ?It's called Strictly Pediatrics & it is right off Dorsett & 270 near Westport. ?They can do partial days & stuff, too, so if you are interested I can give you the number. ?(I can even go w/ you if you want...I know how nervous you must be to think about leaving your baby.) ?But I know the directors, teachers, owner so I'd be glad to help you if you want!

Ok, first of all, breathe, relax. It will be ok. I know that's easy to say, but you need to relax and not be too worked up when you go to visit places or else you're just going to become a wreck. You are not too late, you're right on time or even early. I had to go through it and although its not an easy thing, its not the worse thing in the world either. You and DC will be fine.
You can look on Craigs list for in home care. that's where we found our sitter. I would say about 50% of the listings were people in St Charles/O'Fallon. I was shocked how many listings there were for that area.
You can also ask friends or people at church for recs. There's a website called www.care.com you can check out also, though I haven't used it.
I know its hard, but keep looking until you know you've found the right place. It will happen, don't worry. When we found our place, DH and I walked out of her house and knew without even saying anything to each other that this was it. You'll be fine.
Don't flip out...I was JUST going to write an email like this, although we need daycare beginning in early December, so we're even behind you! Since this is our first child and no family/friends in town had to use daycare, we're at a complete loss as to where to start, and calling our church didn't help because they didn't have a listing for childcare.
We're in the Creve Coeur/Maryland Heights area, so any other recommendations for full-time care would be heavenly from folks. Thanks a ton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll have to look at the recommendations from the previous posters...
