After this weekend, a Question about Trick-or-Treating
Does your area have a set trick-or-treat time?
In my hometown tirck-or-treat was always 6-8. It let the people going out know when to be ready by and the people handing out know when to expect kids.
In my new location, there is no set time. T-o-t begins when the kids want and ends when they want. Anytime during Halloween day. I had kids start at 5:30 and still coming around 9:30. It rained in between so we got a small break, but it's still crazy. I like a timed t-o-t much better!
Re: After this weekend, a Question about Trick-or-Treating
6-8 is the preferred time here, but there were some kids who started at 4:00 this year!! And a friend of mine (who lives in town) still had people ringing her doorbell at 9:45 even though her lights were out!
I've got more issues than a magazine
In my neck of the woods, trick or treat starts when it gets dark and ends around 8:30-9:00. My parents would just turn the lights off at 9:00 and we wouldn't get anymore trick or treaters.
In my SIL's town, T-o-T is on the Thursday before Halloween. Every year.
here we do not have a set time. they pretty much start around dusk and continue until about 9:30
This.
I've never lived anywhere with set times, and never even heard of that (or having a different day for trick or treating), until I started on these boards.
It pretty much ends when the houses all go dark. (When we run out of treats). Everyone is really good about respecting the lights out means no treats.
sorry I'm late on this...
We don't have a set time and until I came on the nest I had never heard of it. Usually the trick or treating starts around 3:00 (after school) and goes til it gets dark. Since it was on a Saturday this year it started around 1.
