nabum - thanks for linking the FO soup recipe! I have the recipe card for the steak at home, but will add it tonight.
10yt - It was a 2006 Mount Vedeer Hess Cabernet. It was much more $$ than we usually buy, but holy smokes, it was delish! We killed the whole bottle that night.
Curious - how much was it? I posted a thread on MM the other week asking for people's favorite wines and cost if they knew. It was a range, some were even in the $50+ range.
7 Deadly Zins was about $20 or $21 regular, but $11 on sale, so I got 2 bottles.
That's good to know that there really IS a difference in taste.
I'll have to look at Costco's wines next time I go. Any favorites from there?
We're mostly red drinkers and we really like the reds from Unico (sp?), Peach Canyon and Hess. We are also HUGE fans of the Cameron Hughes wines - the cab blend and the pinot noir are particularly awesome.
