Kaiser Permanente Northwest will start giving H1N1 vaccinations on a
very limited basis beginning Monday, November 2. For that week, vaccinations will be limited to the following groups in accordance with guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):
- Pregnant women.
- Persons who live with or provide care for infants less than six months old (such as parents, siblings, and day care providers).
- Health care and emergency medical services personnel who have direct contact with patients or infectious materials.
We will continue to follow the recommendations of the CDC, the
Oregon Public Health Division and the
Washington State Department of Health throughout the 2009-2010 flu season.
Before
coming in for an H1N1 vaccination, or if you are not sure whether you
meet the current criteria, we recommend that you call the H1N1
toll-free hotline at
1-888-595-0005. That way, you can get the latest information on the availability of the vaccine.
H1N1 vaccination locations
Starting November
2, vaccinations for the groups specified above will be available at the
following medical offices from 8 a.m. until supplies run out:
There will be no vaccine available at our Salem locations the week of November 2.
DD and I went and got our vaccine this morning at Cascade park. I didn;t think I could get DD hers- but they were giving it - so I got hers too. It's free to Kaiser members. Not even a co-pay to have the nurse inject it. They really weren't checking if you are pregnant or if you care for children under 6mo of age, they are taking you at your word.
