The Day After Thanksgiving

I always feel like the only one going to work on the Friday after Thanksgiving every year!! I work for a bank so we are not closed.

Anyone else work the day after Thanksgiving? What do you do?

I work in a hospital, so we are open 24/7, every day of the year!  I take the day after Thanksgiving off every year, I have to use PTO, but I do it!  I also take a week off over Christmas using PTO.  I have young kids, so I work around their daycare schedule.  I make sure to ask for the days off really early, like in the SUMMER...

Our office is scheduled to be open, but everyone is encouraged to take off that day. If we do take off, we have to use PTO. I am taking that day off to shop and recoup from going to 3 different Thanksgiving dinners.

I'm working as well.  I work for a historic site here in NY and we are open that day.  Thanksgiving weekend is when the site will be starting up the Christmas themed program.

This will be the first year in a very long time that I have to work the day after TG. I am not happy about it, but, I just started my job and am still in my 90 day probation period so I can't even consider asking for the day off. It's only 1 year though because moving forward I plan on taking the day off. We usually put all the Christmas stuff up the day after TG so we will either do it when I get home from work or just do it on the Saturday.

I work retail...I'll be working that entire weekend.  And probably Thanksgiving morning...and the night before Thanksgiving...and all of December...and I'm already getting loopy and crazy just thinking about it. =

i have a pt job in retail and it's mandatory that we work at least 4 hours that day after thanksgiving.

I work that Friday.  I work for a wholesale flower/plant distributor and that Friday after Thanksgiving is one of our biggest poinsettia shipping days so everyone is required to work a full day.

My mom does.  She is a Hospice nurse, and works daytime hours, but they are open on that Friday. The person on holiday all is just on-call on Thursday.

This year is the first time I am off the day after thanksgiving after always having to work it. ?I work in a pharmacy so we are open 365 days a year.

Is it really that big of a deal to work the day after Thanksgiving? I have before when I was in college and had a serving job/retail job/job at Disney but I don't shop the day after Thanksgiving so I didn't care. My office is closed but I don't think I would care if I had to come in.

We are open the day after Thanksgiving. I always take it off! Actually, I work Thanksgiving day since it's just DH and I for Thanksgiving and use my holiday for Friday. It's really nice because I can leave at 1 or 2 on Thanksgiving day since it's a holiday and I'm working .
