buying wedding gown online

Since some of you are much closer to your wedding dates than I am, I wondered if any of you ordered your gown online?  A friend of mine is trying to plan her wedding, and as it turns out, I was cleaning out my favorites a few months ago, and now can't find any of my links.

Re: buying wedding gown online

  • I bought mine locally, but I remember a few girls recommending Chrissy O pretty highly  (www.chrissyobridal.com) .

  • i didn't order a wedding dress but i ordered our FG dress online. i ordered it from www.jaysbridal.com. They sell designer gowns at discounted price. their customer service is great. in fact, i was just looking at their website since i have to order a BM gown!!

  • I bought mine online. It was actually the first thing I had ever bought online! It cost me less than half of what it would have in the store. I used Netbride. She kind of takes forever to get back to you but overall I was happy with her. There is one or two brands she does not carry however.

This is the one I used!

I'm surprised to hear you say that - their business must have grown since I ordered because she was very responsive to me.

Thanks everyone.  This should get her started.

  • Netbride, Jay's Bridal and Chrissy O are all very good. House of Brides is also reputable (although I've heard their customer service is only so-so), as are Pearl's Place and RK Bridal. Basically, most brick-and-mortar stores that also has an online service will be reputable (vs eBay, which can be OK but you have to sort through a LOT of poorly made knockoffs). Oh, and bestbridalprices.com is also supposedly pretty good.

I ordered from Chrissy O's because that's where I got the best prices (most of these places will do price matching/beating) and I was happy with them - they were very friendly and helpful with sizing.

If she's looking for a sample of a more expensive dress, try Scarlett's Closet and bridepower.com. And of course, preownedweddingdresses.com and encorebridal.com for pre-owned dresses (a surprising number are actually new gowns, from brides who bought more than one dress, so it can be a good way to find a good deal on a popular style).

  • I didn't buy mine online, but I did sell it on eBay afterwards. Until the dry cleaner destroyed it and I had to refund the girls money :(
Arrived 4.5 weeks early due to PROM

Cerclage placed @ 21w6d due to CI (IC)
  • I bought my dress online, but it was from another bride (only worn once!) who I found on some board that specializes in brides reselling their dresses.  I did try it on in the store first so I knew what size to order and what alterations I would need.  It worked out great and I got the dress I wanted for almost half off!

This is why mine is still hanging in my closet - DH doesn't get it, but I've heard this happens WAY too often!

Thanks.  Pearl's Place is the other one I remember (but forgot the name of, if that makes sense).  I will C&P your post to send to her.

    thanks everyone!
