  • I am!  I moved here (Boston)  from Cleveland, OH a year and a half ago and alot of that was because of legal benefits.  I am so proud to live somewhere where mainstream politicians can openly run on a platform of "marriage equality", and I think that naturally flows from having more inclusive laws.  I have my fingers crossed for WA and Maine today!  Especially Maine, because I was just so sad after Prop 8 passed in California.
  • Crossing my fingers!
  • Yep I am watching things and trying to stay hopeful.  I grew up in Eastern WA and there are a LOT of conservatives there.  There are enough people there when added to the conservatives on this side of the state that it makes things interesting.  The whole thing just makes me mad because the opponents have continued to focus on how this could "affect their children".  My gf and I got to talking about this last week when she saw some opponents out on a street corner with signs.  She said "what about OUR children.  Our girls are growing up in a society that tells them they aren't a family because they have 2 loving moms."

OK, stepping off my soap box now...keep your fingers crossed for us.  It's a small step, but a necessary one...

  • I definitely am. I am hopeful after hearing a poll last week that Ref 71 (if approved will allow WA dp expansion to go through) was up 59%. We'll just have to wait and see though. Fingers crossed that in a couple weeks I can celebrate having "everything but marriage," a new home and maybe even a bfp! I'll take any that I can get but a trifecta would make my year!
