Swisher's mohawk

Has anyone noticed that it's been trimmed in the back the last few games so that it isn't so much of a mohawk at all?

Mr. Steinbrenner must have said something and sent a barber over.

I thought it was cute and clever since you could hide most of it under a hat and helmet.  I like the clean cut look of the Yankees.  You can count on it.  Doesn't stop me from looking at some hotties from other teams who are not as clean shaven.

See, I prefer a clean cut guy anyway so I love that Yankees are required to have a certain look.  Swisher is his own animal though, and I love him for it.  At first I thought he was a complete odd ball, but now I'm a huge fan.

I love him!!  And yes I loved the mohawk, kinda sad it's gone, but I'm sure it'll be back.

THAT'S where he moved to after he left Columbus!  I don't know how I forgot that-my H went to school with Swisher up until he (Swisher) moved to WV but for some reason I couldn't remember where he moved. He and Sabathia are the only reason my Indians loving hubby won't be pissed if the Yankees win the Series :P

Yeh, he went to Parkersburg High School after leaving Columbus. I remember when he first started in the majors it was a big deal because he was from nearby. And by nearby for me, I mean like 45 minutes away. lol

If I remember right it was a semi-big deal in Columbus too b/c he was born here and went to Ohio State, if I remember right.  I know it was a big deal for my H b/c of the elementary school tie in, but also b/c Swisher and my H's cousin were both drafted by the A's that year (J's cousin went to Notre Dame) and toiled in the minors together for a while.  Unfortunately, J's cousin just didn't have the size to get further than that, but the whole family gets a kick out of seeing Nick have so much success.

Swish is an old friend of mine - I miss the "old" Nick that could be as wild outwardly as he was inside - but hey, he got a ring so I don't think he cares much!
