Hello girls!

I know I have been completely MIA lately!

We had this HUGE multi-million dollar case that was going to trial and I was working like a crazy woman trying to get everything ready - just for it to settle the Friday before trial was supposed to start. Don't get me wrong, I was ecstatic that it settled, (or I would STILL be working every night), but it's sort of sad, too. Ah well, now I can get back to my life.

So what's good? Is everyone else as excited for the Holidays as I am????

Re: Hello girls!

  • Wow, sounds like it was tons of work!  Glad it is over.

I'm extatic about the holidays.  I can't believe this yr has gone by so fast!

  • I'm excited about this holiday season since it'll be the first one we're celebrating as a married couple. The only thing that blows is DH is leaving for training the Sunday following Thanksgiving and I can't go with him this time *sniff*.

  • That sounds like a lot of work.  Glad it settled though and you can be back to normal again :)

I am so so excited about the holidays too.  This is our first Christmas and our first tree!

  • Glad the craziness is over!

I really really want to get rid of the pumpkin stuff and start putting up Christmas decor lol. Is it too early? Im getting my tree the weekend before thanksgiving. Cant wait!

  • I am soooo itching to put up our tree already, but we always put it up the weekend before Thanksgiving. It's a tradition I stole from my parents, and tree-decorating day is SACRED at our house. I am hardcore when it comes to traditions. I have pumpkins and cinnamon stuff everywhere, but I can't wait to start going through my Christmas boxes. I get so nostalgic, I have tons of stuff I've kept forever. I may or may not already have my favorite Christmas CD in my car player. haha..

I think I might just start decorating the house late next week. Since I'm not doing Thanksgiving at my house (we're going to my mom's house), I don't feel the need to wait! I want to enjoy the season for as long as I can. And I'm already planning my annual Holiday dinner party. It makes me feel all giddy inside, lol.

Those of you celebrating your first Christmas, it is so exciting!!! I remember sending out our first Christmas cards, it felt so grown up, lol. I had such a blast buying "Our first Christmas" ornaments and decorating the house. Warning - your first Christmas will be SO expensive. But gradually, as you stockpile stuff, it will get better. This will be our third Christmas, and I think we have a LOT of stuff to decorate with by now. I got a lot of things at Target and Pier One for reasonable prices. Have fun!

  • I've already started to listen to Christmas music. As we cannot travel up north since baby is due on 12/13...I'm trying to get in the holiday mood now. I don't love spending Christmas here without our families...but if we have our little baby boy; it'll be worth it.

With that said, like EliStar, I lOVE trimming the tree and collecting new ornaments.

Pink Christmas tree? I didn't even know those existed, lol. DH would disown me.

As an aside, yesterday I stopped at Bath & Body Works to get my boss a gift for her birthday and they had these awesome scented candles in winter themed porcelain containers. They had a polar bear (with an adorable red cap and scarf), a snowman and a reindeer and they smell great! Aaaannndd they were only $20 with a $35 purchase.
