I'm glad the Washington DP law was protected but it's my hope that people don't get complacent and stop fighting for equal marriage.

I agree. Unfortunately we have a state DOMA, have already tried the courts and lost. I know that this is seen as a big step in the right direction and I'm sure that in years to come overturning DOMA and expanding it to equal marriage will be the goal, but it will be  a hard fight. For now I'm just glad that it appears that a majority--albeit a slim one--supports families like mine.

I am late coming to the party due to being home yesterday with my DD who had another ear infection develop.  I'm with Joy...it's a small step and we have a LONG way to go, but it's better than turning things back.
