Transplanting trumpet vine...

I have a trumpet vine that has completely taken over my ornamental fencing.  I want to transplant it across the yard (I don't know what I was thinking when I planted it by the little fence).  I cut it back this fall when the leaves fell off.  Does anyone have any advice for transplanting it?  I thought I should do it in early spring but am not sure.  Thanks!

Re: Transplanting trumpet vine...

  • My experience is that it is easy to move, and that it reproduces like crazy. "Babies" sprout up in our lawn all summer, we dig them up and replant them. It might be easier to move a baby then an established vine, which have always been a beast for me to maintain and control.
